The BNSF Public Projects team serves as the primary point of contact for projects that involve BNSF property, including projects that are on or near BNSF Right-of-Way. They play a pivotal role in the progression of these projects and provide resources and guidance to local communities, agency partners and other entities. See Public Projects Team map below for state contact information.
This team manages a sytem-wide discretionary grant program in collaboration with public agency partners. Our collaborative work maximizes the impact of available funding opportunities for projects that create safer and more efficient, resilient and sustainable rail transportation. To learn more, contact grantsupport@bnsf.com.
The BNSF Railway Public Projects Manual is a how-to guide for working with BNSF on these projects. It provides guidance on project delivery and expectations from BNSF’s perspective. This manual is not an exhaustive list of every type of project or scenario, but it provides a common starting point as we engage to deliver projects.
If you are looking for permits, leases or easements for any of the items listed below, please direct your inquiry to the Permits/Real Estate link under the BNSF FAQ page as those requests go through our consultant Jones Lang LaSalle rather than BNSF Public Projects.
