Fort Worth, Texas, Sept. 30, 2020 – BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) celebrates the anniversary of Logistics Center Hudson receiving its first unit train of sand this week. The rail-served development broke ground on February 18, 2019 and served its first customer, Granite Peak Transloading, seven months later. Logistics Center Hudson was designed to help businesses increase their reach and speed to the densely-populated Denver market and surrounding area. As with other BNSF Logistics Centers, businesses locating at Hudson can save nine months or more of development time and expense because the common infrastructure is established with graded, shovel-ready sites in place.
“Granite Peak Transloading is excited to be a part of Logistics Center Hudson. From the beginning of the project, we saw a great opportunity to expand our transloading network, while continuing to provide quality, affordable service to our customers,” said Fred Bourne, vice president of business development, Granite Peak Transloading. “We have currently built over 25,000 feet of track in Logistics Center Hudson, where we are able to work on three unit trains simultaneously, a capability that is not available elsewhere in the Denver area. Granite Peak Transloading looks forward to further expansion in the Logistics Center and working closely with the great team at BNSF.”
Logistics Center Hudson is a 430-acre facility featuring sites for customers who wish to ship via individual railcars as well as unit train sites for customers who ship entire trainloads. The available sites are customizable to meet customers’ needs. In addition to gaining access to the BNSF network, businesses that locate at Hudson will also have easy access to Interstate 76. Logistics Center Hudson currently has additional customer sites available for development.
“BNSF’s Economic Development team strategically selected Hudson for its locational advantages to connect our customers to the fast-growing markets of the Denver metropolitan area,” said Colby Tanner, assistant vice president, economic development. “When locating at Logistics Center Hudson, our customers can expect to save significant time and money benefiting from our team’s expertise, while extending their supply chain using BNSF’s consistent and reliable direct-rail service.”
BNSF Logistics Centers focus on offering direct rail service in multi-customer, multi-commodity business parks. BNSF invests directly in the development of the facility to create sites in under-served, strategic, end-user markets. These facilities can service carload, unit train customers, or both.
